Cultivation of comfrey
Comfrey is an easy plant to grow except in the very least favourable conditions. It will grow well in almost all of the UK, and will grow acceptably where it doesn’t grow well.
Instructions for growing new plants vary depending on the initial material you are propagating – generally one of a root cutting (or root-set), crown cutting (or crown-set), or a split mature plant.
Caring for mature comfrey plants in permanent beds is the same regardless of the source material – just be aware that root cuttings will take about half a season longer to become established compared to crown cuttings and mature splits.
